Guy Weaver

Chartered Accountant

Guy Weaver is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with over 20 years’ experience across corporate finance, venture capital and board roles.

He spent 19 years at KPMG, including 14 years in corporate finance, advising on over £1bn of transactions across equity raises, debt financings, M&A, valuations and restructuring. He co-founded and led KPMG’s regional debt advisory team in the North West.

Guy then joined Praetura Ventures as part of the founding team, helping build the firm into a leading UK venture capital platform. As Investment Director and later Portfolio Director, he led investments and worked closely with portfolio companies on follow-on fundraises, acquisitions and exits, while also serving as a Non-Executive Director and Chair across multiple businesses.

He now works directly with founders and leadership teams on capital strategy, transaction execution and business performance. Alongside this, he has built the Capital Raise Community, focused on helping early-stage businesses run investor-grade funding processes, combining corporate finance discipline with AI-enabled workflows to improve speed and execution.

Guy brings a practical, execution-focused approach, combining deep deal experience with hands-on board-level insight and modern AI-driven delivery.
